Homes for Ukraine is a Government scheme developed in 2022, in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, to offer support and shelter to those fleeing the conflict.

Extern plays a vital role as a key delivery partner in the screening process of potential 'hosts'. These hosts are integral individuals who generously provide accommodation to those fleeing conflict.
Through a meticulous screening process, Extern ensures that these hosts meet the necessary criteria and standards required for providing safe and secure accommodations to individuals seeking refuge.
Our dedication to this role reflects our commitment to fostering a supportive environment for those displaced by conflict, ensuring they find sanctuary and safety during their journey to rebuild their lives.
This service is offered in partnership with Barnardo's and supported by other external agencies including government departments within Northern Ireland. Applications can be made via NI Direct, and allocations are made via local government agencies.
