Extern Supports the Launch of the Regional Traveller Health Action Plan 2022-2027

Extern is proud to have been part of the launch of the Regional Traveller Health Action Plan 2022-2027, an initiative dedicated to tackling health inequalities faced by the Traveller community. The event, hosted by the Extern Traveller Primary Health & Social Care Project, brought together key stakeholders, service providers, and community members for a day of collaboration and discussion.

Developed by Community Healthcare Organisation (CHO1)—covering Cavan, Donegal, Leitrim, Monaghan, and Sligo—and supported by the Department of Health – Ireland, this five-year plan is a significant step toward ensuring equitable access to healthcare and essential services for Travellers. It addresses key social determinants of health, including housing, education, employment, and access to medical care, all of which play a crucial role in overall well-being.
