Extern News

Extern, the leading social justice Charity has responded to the death of a man from homelessness in Belfast this week, the second in recent months. The Charity provides a homeless support service, which is funded by the Northern Ireland Housing Executive, in conjunction with Supporting People and the Belfast Trust.

Our Multidisciplinary Homeless Support Team are organising a pub quiz on 10th February in the The John Hewitt Bar, Belfast to raise money for Refugee Families in Crisis.
If you are interested in coming along and supporting this event please contact Ronald Vellum at Ronald.vellem@extern.org or call on 02890330433.

Extern facilitated a Personal Development training programme for our Refugee Clients. The course was well received and the participants fully engaged and had great fun.
The verbal feedback was very positive in terms of increasing self-esteem/ confidence, developing skills, providing peer support and identifying future goals within a supportive and encouraging group setting. The morning also provided a social outlet for the women, many who have young families, are socially isolated and in the process of resettling into NI.
